Health Canada looks at Strainprint data on Canadian cannabis use
October 15, 2019 By Grow Opportunity staff

Health Canada is looking to a Toronto-based data company, Strainprint Analytics, to better understand cannabis use in Canada.
Strainprint Technologies Ltd. announced Oct. 15 that Health Canada has subscribed to the company’s data analytics services to further research Canadian cannabis consumption in the post-legalization era.
“Canada has developed the most sophisticated and compliant medical cannabis program in the world, which makes Health Canada, arguably, one of the most important data customers in the industry,” said Strainprint CEO Andrew Muroff. “We are incredibly proud that they have chosen to work with us as a trusted authority on patient data.”
Through Strainprint, Health Canada will have access to over 1.4 million patient-reported outcomes through its personal cannabis tracking app and online community. The Strainprint mobile app helps users track their usage by selecting which symptoms they want to treat and record their treatment history. It is also able to provide a library of strain types, THC and CBD levels, ingestion methods and dose amounts that worked best for the user-reported symptoms.
The company recently released a comprehensive report on “The Canadian Medical Cannabis Experience: A 2019 Patient Retrospective” based on data gathered in 2018 from its 1.4 million users.
