Sundial announces executive shakeup

January 30, 2020  By Grow Opportunity staff

Sundial CEO Torsten Kuenzlen has stepped down as director to “pursue other interests,” along with executive chairman Ted Hellard and chief operations officer Brian Harriman.

News came in the form of a press statement on Jan. 30 that announced what the company called leadership changes and optimization initiatives.

Board member Zach George has been appointed as CEO and will also continue as a director. Hellard will also continue to serve the board, as well as chair of the Mergers and Acquisitions committee, while Harriman’s portfolio is said to be transitioning to Andrew Stordeur, who has been appointed as president and COO.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Mr. George join us as CEO. His successful track record for effecting corporate change through increased efficiency and operational improvements, along with his capital markets experience, will help drive the next chapter for Sundial,” said chairman of the board Greg Mills. “(Stordeur’s) leadership and strong background in the consumer-packaged goods sector are critical to Sundial and his promotion furthers our efforts to streamline the organization.”
