Aleafia Health Inc. is now the exclusive service provider for thousands of Unifor union members with medical cannabis insurance coverage.
The 10-year agreement will provide Unifor members, retirees and their eligible dependents with access to Aleafia Health’s full suite of services, including physician expertise, virtual consultation, access to its product portfolio and same-day delivery.
Aleafia Health CEO Geoffrey Benic called this agreement a “the largest breakthrough in patient access since the early days of legalization in Canada.”
“Unifor members across the country deserve access to the benefits of medical cannabis coverage through their benefits. As a union we will support our local bargaining committees to add this coverage where possible,” said Jerry Dias, Unifor national president.
Unifor represents more than 350,000 members across the country, making the company Canada’s largest private sector union. Aleafia Health has provided cannabinoid therapy to more than 75,000 patients through its national network of clinics and its line of medical cannabis products.
