Third-party extraction company, Valens GroWorks Corp., has entered into a custom manufacturing agreement with Verse Cannabis to produce a new line of cannabis extracts.

The initial five-year agreement, which was announced on June 4, includes two product launches. The first launch will introduce the Verse Originals line with hydrocarbon-derived crumble and then, a range of vapes and oils. The second launch will produce Verse Concentrates, which include live resin vape pens and various water-based products under SōRSE by Valens’ emulsion technology.

“We are excited to develop new, long-awaited products with a brand that values quality and innovation as much as we do,” said Valens chief executive Tyler Robson, in a statement. “In partnership with Verse, we will be introducing a wide assortment of reimagined cannabis products yet to be seen in the legal Canadian market, but very much in line with the expectations of experienced cannabis users.”

The Valens Company, which is based in Kelowna, B.C., will pay Verse Cannabis royalties over the five-year term.

Robson said the company hopes the agreement will leverage Valens as the first to bring this “next generation” of products to the Canadian cannabis market. “Manufacturing popular, advanced products with Verse can put into motion an important consumer migration opportunity from the illicit market that The Valens Company hopes to bring to life with this partnership,” the statement said.
