Aurora gets nod to supply initial 25,000 kg of cannabis to Alberta
Aurora Cannabis Inc. will supply Alberta's cannabis market with an initial 25,000 kilograms for the first six months of sales, following a new agreement with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), according to a press release from Aurora.

Terry Booth The AGLC is responsible for regulating private retail cannabis licensing and distribution, as well as operating the province’s online cannabis store.
With headquarters in Edmonton, Aurora currently has three cannabis grow facilities in Alberta with a combined production capacity of over 250,000 kilograms per year, which the company said would provide sufficient product availability to the adult cannabis consumer market in Alberta.
Aurora CEO Terry Booth said the supply agreement with the AGLC is the results of “many months of discussions” on achieving the best possible framework for a well-functioning adult consumer-use market that prevents young people from accessing cannabis.
“We have a brand recognized for quality, which we intend to leverage to capture significant share of the adult consumer market in Alberta and Canada, both organically and through our strategic retail partnerships. We look forward to working with the AGLC and becoming a key part of the province’s cannabis infrastructure to ensure Alberta’s successful entry into the burgeoning consumer cannabis market,” Booth said in a statement.
