Delta 9 Cannabis named 7th Top Growing Canadian Company in 2021

Delta 9 Cannabis Inc. is the 7th top growing Canadian company this year.

The Winnipeg-based company is one of a few cannabis companies featured on The Globe and Mail Report on Business editorial ranking, reporting 5,413 per cent growth in the past three years. Delta 9’s annual revenue in 2020 is reported to be $52,047,053, compared with base-year revenue in 2017 ($944,114)

“We are delighted that our hard work over the last three years is being recognized by The Globe and Mail as one of the top growing companies in Canada,” said John Arbuthnot, CEO of Delta 9, in a company press release. “We have continued this growth into Q2, 2021 revenue up 27 per cent sequentially from first quarter and our seventh consecutive quarter of positive Adjusted EBITDA.”

Arbuthnot added that the company will continue to focus on growing its retail network throughout the country, as well as its online retail strategy. The company will also look to expand into the United States and into international markets.

A total of 448 companies were featured in this year’s Top Growing Companies ranking. Calgary-based cannabis retail company, High Tide Inc., ranked 82nd on the list and Toronto’s Ace Beverage Group (owned by Canopy Growth Corp.) ranked 94th.

Launched in 2019, the Canada’s Top Growing Companies editorial ranking highlights entrepreneurial achievement in Canada by identifying and amplifying the success of growth-minded, independent businesses in Canada. It is a voluntary program in which companies had to complete an in-depth application process to qualify.
