High Tide looks into legal action against Grasscity copycat

High Tide Inc., a Calgary-based cannabis retail company, is looking into legal action related to its subsidiary, Grasscity.com.
“It has recently come to our attention that a company registered in China has fraudulently copied the website associated with our wholly owned subsidiary, Grasscity,” the company said in a statement on March 5. “We are taking this issue seriously and are exploring all appropriate legal actions. In the meantime, we urge our loyal customers to be vigilant and ensure that they only visit High Tide’s legitimate e-commerce platforms, Grasscity.com and CBDcity.com, when making purchases related to consumption accessories and hemp-derived CBD products.”
High Tide is one of the largest Canadian cannabis retailers with 73 locations across Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Key investors of the company include Aphria Inc. and Aurora Cannabis Inc.
