MediPharm COO joins Neptune Wellness

David Mayers is the new chief operating officer at Neptune Wellness Solutions Inc.
Mayers formerly served as chief operating officer of MediPharm Labs Inc., a pharmaceutical-focused cannabis extraction company based in Barrie, Ont. Prior to MediPharm, Mayers has also worked as chief executive and chief operating officer at Impopharma Inc. in Concord, Ont.
Mayers has about 30 years of senior-executive experience in cannabis extraction, pharmaceuticals and health and wellness. He is also a trained chemist with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from University of Guelph and a Masters degree in Business Administration from University of Toronto.
“As COO, he will play a critical role in implementing new systems and processes to drive Neptune’s operational excellence,” said Neptune CEO Michael Cammarata in a statement on March 9. “I am very pleased to welcome David to the Neptune team and look forward to his contributions to our mission to redefine health and wellness, bring consumer packaged goods brands to market and deliver profitable growth.”
Neptune Wellness is a cannabis extraction company with a 50,000 square foot facility in Sherbrooke, Que. It specializes in cannabis and industrial hemp extraction. It also offers turnkey solutions for nutrition products and pet supplements.
